Tadellöser & Wolff 1975

Overview

Tadellöser & Wolff is a 1975 two-part television film produced for the German public-service television broadcaster ZDF in sepia. The production is based on the 1971 book of the same name by Walter Kempowski. The story depicts the life of the middle-class Kempowski family in Rostock between 1939 and 1945 in great detail, closely following the novel on which it is based. Alongside special events in Walter's life and within the family, the narrative features repeated depictions of everyday life. These include walks with his father through Rostock, activities at school and in youth groups, interactions with friends, listening to swing music, family meals, Christmas celebrations, and visits to church or the cinema. Father Karl enjoys cigars from the Loeser and Wolff company, which consistently prompts him to use the phrase impeccable, more impeccable.
