Surprise, Surprise is a British television programme that aired on ITV. The original run was presented by Cilla Black and produced by London Weekend Television. The series debuted on 6 May 1984 and continued for fourteen series, concluding on 5 September 1997. Following the end of the regular series, four annual specials were broadcast between 1998 and 2001. After an eleven‑year hiatus, the programme was revived in 2012 with a new production company, ITV Studios, and a new presenter, Holly Willoughby. The revived version has continued beyond its initial return, reaching a second series under the updated format. Throughout its history, the show has maintained its placement on the ITV network, transitioning from its original London Weekend Television production to the later ITV Studios arrangement while retaining the same title. The series’ timeline therefore spans an initial fourteen‑series run, a brief period of special episodes, and a later revival that remains active as of its second series.
