In the episode titled Slash Fiction, Sam and Dean Winchester find themselves on the FBI's Most Wanted list. This situation arises because two Leviathans have cloned the brothers and are engaging in a killing spree. Because the Winchesters are the subjects of a nationwide manhunt, they must find a way to drop off the grid. To assist them, Bobby sends the brothers to Frank Deveraux, who is described as a quirky surveillance expert. While Sam and Dean seek help to evade detection, Bobby continues his own efforts to find a method to kill the Leviathans or at least slow them down. The ultimate objective for the real Winchesters is to stop their evil doppelgangers.
