Sundown

Overview

Sundown is a drama film that features several distinct cinematic works sharing the title. Among these is a short drama film centered on Nora, a talented twenty-five-year-old dancer who is about to lose her sight. As she finds it increasingly difficult to move in space, Nora comes across a group of visually impaired athletes who confront her with her new reality. Another notable production is the 2021 drama film written and directed by Michel Franco. That 2021 feature stars Tim Roth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Iazua Larios, following a wealthy man played by Roth who attempts to abandon his family on vacation after the death of his mother. The director, Michel Franco, previously won the Silver Lion for New Order and returned with the 2021 Sundown project. Additionally, the title appears in the history of cinema through other works such as the 1967 film Hurry Sundown, which starred Michael Caine during his early career.
