Strike Witches 2008

Overview

Strike Witches is a television series set in 1939 that depicts a global conflict against an enigmatic threat known as the Neuroi. Following the sudden appearance of these entities, humanity faces widespread displacement as towns and cities are attacked. To combat this adversary, a specialized anti-Neuroi weapon called the Striker Unit is developed. These devices function by utilizing magic to amplify the inherent abilities of female magic-wielders, allowing them to engage the monsters in aerial combat. To organize this defense, young witches from across the globe are recruited to serve in an elite task force designated as the 501st Joint Fighter Wing. The series chronicles the efforts of this specialized unit as they utilize their unique magical powers and technology to protect humanity from the ongoing Neuroi aggression. Because the ultimate agenda of the invaders remains unknown, the witches must rely on their combined strength and the capabilities of their Striker Units to reclaim territory and defend the remaining human populations from the persistent threat.
