Overview

Spin City is an American sitcom television series that aired on ABC. The show is set in a fictionalized version of the New York City mayor's office and features a cast of characters who work together to run the city. Mike Flaherty is the Deputy Mayor of New York City, serving as Mayor Randall Winston's key strategist and handler. He is assisted by a staff that includes a press secretary, a chief of staff, a gay activist running minority affairs, an accountant, and a speechwriter. The show was created by Gary David Goldberg and Bill Lawrence and produced by Ubu Productions, Lottery Hill Entertainment, and DreamWorks Television. The series features a team of characters who are professionally capable but personally challenged. The show aired from September 17, 1996, to April 30, 2002, and starred Michael J. Fox and later Charlie Sheen.
