Overview

Snowpiercer is an American post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller television series that premiered on May 17, 2020, on TNT. The show was created by Josh Friedman and Graeme Manson. The narrative is based on the 2013 film of the same name directed by Bong Joon-ho, as well as the 1982 French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand, and Jean-Marc Rochette. The series follows the passengers of a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, the train carries the last remnants of humanity. Onboard, the survivors struggle to coexist as class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival play out within the delicate balance of the train. The cast features Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, Alison Wright, and Iddo Goldberg. The television series ran for four seasons, concluding in 2024. It serves as a dystopian exploration of humanity's survival following a global climate catastrophe that rendered the Earth inhabitable for those outside the train's confines.
