Overview

Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice is a 2002 American sports comedy film directed by Steve Boyum and starring Stephen Baldwin and Gary Busey. The direct-to-video film serves as a sequel to the 1977 film Slap Shot and was released in the United States on March 26, 2002. Set twenty-five years after the events of the first film, the story follows the minor league ice hockey team, the Charlestown Chiefs, which are still languishing in Pennsylvania. With the original Hanson Brothers still on the same minor league ice hockey team, the Chiefs are sold to a new owner. The new owner provides the team with a female coach and places them in a league where they are meant to be regularly humiliated by an opposing Harlem Globetrotters-like team.
