Overview

Shameless is an American comedy-drama television series developed by John Wells that aired on Showtime from January 9, 2011, to April 11, 2021. The show is an adaptation of the British series of the same name created by Paul Abbott. Set in the South Side of Chicago, the narrative centers on a dysfunctional family led by Frank Gallagher, an alcoholic single father of six children. While Frank spends his time at the bar or incapacitated, his smart and industrious children struggle to navigate their lives and grow up in his absence. The series features an ensemble cast led by William H. Macy, alongside actors including Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, and Ethan Cutkosky. Described as a scrappy and fiercely loyal group, the siblings make no apologies for their circumstances or their identities.
