The aftermath of the confrontation between Jinka Yamato and Yazen has fundamentally altered the power dynamics between humans and the magically gifted katawara. Following the downfall of the dangaishu, the group of katawara-hunting monks led by Yazen, rogue katawara groups have begun to form, which further destabilizes the already fragile relationship between humanity and the katawara. Amidst this chaos, Shinsuke Hyoudou has lost faith in his own abilities and spends much of his time drinking in the company of Senya. Despite this tragedy, Tsukiko maintains no grudge against Senya and remains determined to become a disciple of Shinsuke Hyoudou. While Shinsuke refuses to serve as her sword instructor
