Rolie Polie Olie is a children's television series produced by Nelvana and distributed by Disney. The show was created by William Joyce, Maggie Swanson, and Anne Wood. It centers on a little roly pollie who is composed of several spheres and other three-dimensional geometric shapes. The series was one of the earliest to be fully animated in CGI and the first CGI animated preschool series. Rolie Polie Olie won a Gemini Award in Canada for Best Animated Program in 1999 and a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class. The show originally aired and now airs in reruns on Disney Junior. The series was produced in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Disney Channel, and was also co-produced with French broadcaster La Cinquième/France 5. Rolie Polie Olie features characters including Olie, his sister Zowie, and his best friend Billy, who live as robots and discover the values of friendship, family, and growing up.
