Overview

Resistance Climbing is a 2023 documentary and adventure short film that explores the development of rock climbing in Palestine. The film follows the efforts of American climber Tim Bruns, who began discovering and equipping climbing routes in a village north of Ramallah in 2014. Along with Harris, Bruns established Wadi Climbing, which serves as the first indoor climbing gym in the region. The narrative documents how a diverse group of individuals, including Bedouins, activists, and urban professionals, have adopted the sport as a form of respite from the challenges associated with the Israeli occupation. The film features a visit from American writer and climber Andrew Bisharat, who travels to the conflict-torn hills to engage with this growing community.
