Synopsis
Subaru risked his life to save the children from a pack of Ulgarm, but he was so powerfully cursed that there could be no saving him. Even Beatrice is unable to undo the complex web of curses on him, and says he’ll grow weak and die within half a day. The only way he can survive is if the entire Ulgarm pack is defeated, but time is not on his side. Subaru is ready to give up when he learns that Rem has gone into the forest by herself…

In this episode of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Subaru's life is at risk due to a powerful curse he received while saving the children from a pack of Ulgarm. The curse is complex and cannot be undone by Beatrice, and Subaru is given a short time frame to survive. He learns that the only way to break the curse is for the entire Ulgarm pack to be defeated, but time is working against him.
As Subaru's condition worsens, he becomes despondent and ready to give up. However, he is motivated to take action when he learns that Rem has gone into the forest by herself. This development prompts Subaru to take a course of action to try and save Rem and himself.
