Lachchu tells Sakhu and Janki that Motibai will carry out Lachchu's plan. Sakhu has made arrangements for the presents not to reach Bithur. Fraser tells Raghunath that the East India Company is against Gangadhar and Manu's marriage as Manu has violated law and order in Bithur. As Manu unties the thread, Gangadhar falls ill.
