Overview

The 1984 film Police Academy follows the implementation of new recruitment policies that remove requirements regarding sex, weight, height, and intelligence for joining the police force. These changes allow a diverse group of individuals to enter the Police Academy, a development that causes significant frustration for the academy instructors. Among the new recruits is a social misfit named Mahoney, who enrolls in the program as an alternative to serving a jail sentence.
