In the thirty-eighth episode of the third season of the television series Pokemon, also known as Pokemon 1997, Ash sets his sights on a rare and brightly-colored Noctowl. The series itself is a Japanese anime series that was created as a companion to video game franchises. The anime series frames the same story used in individual video games, though it includes a multitude of story detours. Ash is accompanied on his travels by his partner Pikachu.
