Synopsis
A twist of fate pits Ash and his new friend, Richie, against each other in the fifth round of the Pokémon League Competition. Both are determined to triumph, but who will emerge victorious? And, can their friendship survive the struggle?

Friend and Foe Alike is an episode of the television series Pokemon, which is a Japanese anime series that originated as a companion to video game franchises. The series presents the same overarching story used in the individual video games while incorporating a number of story detours. In this episode, a twist of fate pits Ash, who is accompanied by his partner Pikachu as he travels, and his new friend Richie against each other in the fifth round of the Pokemon League Competition.
