In the television series Pokémon, which is a Japanese anime series created as a companion to video game franchises and follows the same framing story as the individual video games while featuring a multitude of storyline deviations, Ash travels accompanied by his partner Pikachu.

In season one, episode sixty-six, titled Snow Way Out!, Pikachu becomes lost in a snowy mountain forest. Ash and the gang must figure out how to stay warm while tracking down their missing pal.
