The animated television series Pokémon follows Ash, accompanied by his partner Pikachu, as he travels. In the episode Haunter Versus Kadabra, unknown to Ash, one of the ghost pokemon decides to join Ash and friends on their journey and more importantly help Ash battle the powerful Saffron City gym leader. Pokémon is a Japanese anime television series that was created as a companion to video game franchises. The anime series generally presents the same story used in individual video games, but with a number of story diversions.
