Overview

Pardners is a 1956 American comedy western film starring the comedy team of Martin and Lewis. Released on July 25, 1956, by Paramount Pictures, this western spoof was directed by Norman Taurog and served as the penultimate film of the sixteen screen collaborations between Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis prior to their breakup. In the film, a rich momma's boy and Eastern dude named Wade Kingsley Jr. attempts to follow in his murdered father's footsteps by returning to the West. He seeks to partner with Slim Moseley Jr., who is the son of his father's former partner. Wade overcomes Slim's initial reluctance to accept him by using his fortune to purchase a prize cow and a new car to assist Slim in his job as foreman on the Kingsley family ranch. The ranch is currently under siege by a gang of outlaws known as the masked raiders. Wade generously attempts to pay off the mortgage on the property using fifteen thousand dollars of his own money, while neither partner realizes the role of the respected banker.
