The Portuguese television series "Os Maias" premiered in 2001. The show revolves around the life of Pedro da Maia, who marries Maria Monforte despite his father's disapproval. This union produces a son and a daughter. Maria Monforte later falls in love with another man, Tancredo, and leaves with her daughter for Italy. Pedro, upon learning of this, takes his son to his father's house, where Pedro's life takes a tragic turn. Following this event, Carlos stays with his grandfather and receives an education. Carlos later becomes a doctor and establishes his own medical practice. He then meets Maria Eduarda, with whom he develops a romantic relationship, resulting in numerous nights together.
