Overview

Operation San Pietro is a comedy and crime film released on December 29, 1967, with a runtime of one hour and thirty-three minutes. The story follows a small-time crook named Napoleone who joins an unlikely gang consisting of a gangster known as The Baron and two cohorts named Agonia and The Captain. Napoleone leads the group to Rome, where they stay with a shady used-car dealer called Il Cajella to help finance a new life of crime by planning to rob a statue from the Vatican. However, a big-time American gangster named Joe Ventura learns of the heist and desires the priceless statue for himself. Ventura sends his mistress, Samantha, to seduce and betray the woman-hungry Cajella so that she can acquire the statue. According to promotional materials, these four individuals stole a fifty million dollar statue from the Vatican and ultimately sold it for eighty dollars.
