Open All Night 1981

Overview

Open All Night is a situation comedy that aired on ABC between November 28, 1981, and March 5, 1982. The series centered on Gordon Feester, played by George Dzundza, and his oddball family who lived and worked in an all-night chain grocery store named 364 Store, which stayed open every day except Christmas. Store manager Feester lived in an apartment located directly above the store.

Culturally significant for its brief network run and its notable guest appearances, the show was somewhat based on the British series Open All Hours and was co-created, written, and directed by Jay Tarses. The series also featured guest appearances by Cassandra Peterson and David Letterman, the latter of whom made a sly reference to his daytime talk show that had been canceled a year prior.
