Onipan! is a Japanese anime television series that presents a lighthearted take on traditional oni, or demons, from Japanese folklore. The series follows three young oni—Tsutsuji, Tsuyukusa, and Himawari—as they strive to improve the relationship between humans and oni through themes of love, friendship, and the use of superpowered underpants. Created by Norihiro Naganuma, the show was animated by Wit Studio and produced by Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions. It aired in 2022 on TV Tokyo. The series was directed by Masahiko Ohta, with scripts written by Takashi Aoshima and music composed by Yasuhiro Misawa. Its unique premise blends folklore with whimsical storytelling, focusing on the adventures of the three main characters as they work to change public perception of oni in their community.
