Overview

The film Next is centered around a character with a unique ability. Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret that sets him apart from others. He is able to see a few minutes into the future, a power that has led to examinations and interest from the government and medical establishment in the past. To avoid this scrutiny, Cris lives under an assumed name in Las Vegas, where he performs and gambles to make a living. A government agent named Callie Ferris becomes involved in his life, seeking his help in preventing a catastrophic event. The situation becomes urgent when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device, prompting Callie to try to capture Cris and convince him to use his power to help her stop the threat. Cris's ability and his reluctance to get involved create tension in the story.
