Naruto is a Japanese anime series created, written, and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The story follows Naruto Uzumaki, a mischievous adolescent ninja who struggles as he searches for recognition and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the village leader and strongest ninja. The original television series aired on TV Tokyo in Japan from October 3, 2002, until February 8, 2007, spanning a total of 220 episodes. An English dub produced by Viz Media began airing on September 10, 2005, and was broadcast on networks including Cartoon Network and YTV until December 2009. The series features voice performances by actors such as Junko Takeuchi, Maile Flanagan, Kate Higgins, and Chie Nakamura. Following the conclusion of this series, a second installment titled Naruto: Shippuden aired on TV Tokyo for 500 episodes between 2007 and 2017. The franchise also includes various anime feature films and OVA films. Today, the series is available to viewers through multiple streaming platforms, including Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+.
