Naked and Afraid 2013

Overview

Naked and Afraid is an American reality television series that airs on the Discovery Channel. The program premiered in 2013 and focuses on the experiences of survivalists placed in extreme environments. Each episode features two strangers, a male and a female, who meet for the first time without clothing. These participants are tasked with surviving in the wilderness for a duration of 21 days. During their stay, the survivalists have no access to food, water, or clothing. Each individual is permitted to bring only one helpful survival item to assist them during the challenge. The series documents the various obstacles the pairs encounter while attempting to sustain themselves in their respective locations. For example, in one instance, participants in the Costa Rican rainforest faced difficulties including severe weather, illness, a shelter fire, and a snake attack. The show continues to chronicle these survival attempts as the participants navigate the demands of living off the land while completely exposed to their surroundings.
