Jang-hyun is a cold-hearted man living without purpose or desire until he meets Gil-chae. Gil-chae is a charming woman who is admired by everyone. Her first love is Yeon-jun, a Sungkyunkwan student, but he is already engaged to her best friend, Eun-ae. While Yeon-jun struggles with his feelings for Gil-chae, he is unable to break off his engagement because of tradition. Eun-ae does not doubt or hate the connection between Yeon-jun and Gil-chae. As Jang-hyun becomes entangled in this unusual love triangle, Gil-chae finds herself confused about her own feelings, having only ever loved Yeon-jun. The complex relationships between these four individuals face an even greater twist when war breaks out. This historical romance follows the intense story of a noblewoman and a mysterious man. The series is characterized by its drama, war, politics, and mystery elements. After the tenth episode, the series takes a five-week break.
