Murder One is a television series that aired from 1995 to 1997, created by Steven Bochco, Charles H. Eglee, and Channing Gibson. The series focuses on the legal proceedings handled by a prestigious Los Angeles law firm. In the first season, the narrative follows Theodore Hoffman, a highly regarded defense attorney. After successfully defending the wealthy Richard Cross in a high-profile murder trial, Hoffman takes on the case of Neil Avedon. Avedon is a famous young actor struggling with drug and alcohol issues who faces charges for the same murder for which Cross was previously acquitted. The first season explores this single case in detail. In the second season, Jimmy Wyler takes over for Hoffman. The structure of the show shifts during this period, moving away from a single case to a series of new legal challenges. These subsequent cases include the murder of the governor of California and the trial of a police officer accused of brutality. The cast includes Mary McCormack, Michael Hayden, J.C. MacKenzie, and Barbara Bosson.
