Overview
Monarch of the Glen is a British comedy drama television series set in the Scottish Highlands. The series is based on the comic novels of Compton Mackenzie. It follows the life of Archie MacDonald, a young restaurateur who is called back to his childhood home of Glenbogle. Archie is told he is the new Laird of Glenbogle, a title that brings with it significant responsibilities. The series explores Archie's experiences as he navigates his new role and the challenges that come with it. The show was produced by Ecosse Films for BBC Scotland and broadcast on BBC One. It consists of seven series with a total of episodes.
