The series is based on Godzilla by Toho Co., Ltd and is the sixth installment and second television series in the Monsterverse franchise. In season one, two siblings look to uncover their family's connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch, which leads them into the world of monsters. The story takes place in the 1950s and half a century later, where Monarch is threatened by what Army officer Lee Shaw knows. The series follows one family's journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to Monarch, set after the battle between Godzilla and the Titans, revealing that monsters are real.
