The episode opens at a Parisian middle school where the students have organized a birthday celebration for Miss Bustier, a popular teacher known for her kindness toward the class. In keeping with the school’s tradition, each pupil presents a small gift, hoping to make the day memorable for their mentor. The atmosphere is cheerful, and the teachers’ lounge is decorated with balloons and streamers as the birthday cake is set out.

Amid the festivities, an akuma—an evil butterfly sent by the series’ antagonist—targets Miss Bustier. The akuma exploits a moment of emotional vulnerability, transforming the teacher into the villain Zombizou. The new monster is distinguished by a striking appearance: she wields a pair of black lipstick tubes that exude a dark, malicious energy, and the pigment spreads across her face in an ominous, evil shade. The transformation marks the shift from a beloved educator to a threatening creature intent on spreading chaos.

As Zombizou roams the school grounds, the black lipstick becomes a weapon, leaving a trail of darkness wherever she goes. The episode follows the established pattern of the series: Marinette Dupain‑Cheng and Adrien Agreste, who operate as the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir, become aware of the akumatized threat. Their mission is to protect Paris and its citizens, which now includes rescuing Miss Bustier from the influence of the akuma.
