Overview

Medusa is a 2021 film directed by Anita Rocha da Silveira that explores the lives of a group of young women. By night, the group transforms into a vigilante girl gang that prowls the streets to confront individuals they perceive as sinners who have deviated from their established path. The plot takes a turn after a violent encounter goes wrong, resulting in Mari becoming scarred and losing her employment. Following this incident, Mari begins to reevaluate her perspectives regarding her community, her religious beliefs, and her peers. The film, which is categorized as fantasy and horror, had an international premiere and was featured in the Toronto International Film Festival lineup. It has a runtime of two hours and eight minutes and was released in the United States on July 29, 2022.
