Max & Ruby is a Canadian animated children's television series based on the book series by author Rosemary Wells. Produced by Nelvana Limited, the show follows the everyday lives and adventures of two young anthropomorphic rabbit siblings. The main characters are Max, an energetic and mischievous three-year-old, and Ruby, his patient, smart, and goal-oriented seven-year-old sister. The series explores the day-to-day interactions of the two bunnies as they learn to get along. By showing the siblings playing together, the program models empowering messages regarding how to resolve differences in a respectful and supportive manner. The series was created by Rosemary Wells, Matthew Fernandes, Matt Holtz, Ray Leong, Andres Nieves, and Donna Zeller. In Canada, the show debuted on Treehouse TV on May 3, 2002, while the United States premiere occurred on the Nick Jr. block on Nickelodeon. The series ran from 2002 until 2021 and featured voice performances from actors including Lorraine Parsloe, Lynn Cleckner, Loretta Jafelice, and Julie-Ann Dean.
