Marsupilami is an American animated television series that features the antics of a fictional creature characterized by an enormously long tail. The character originated in the Belgian comic book Spirou in 1952, created by Andre Franquin. Disney’s iteration of the character first appeared on television as a segment within the 1992 program Raw Toonage. Following these initial appearances, the character was spun off into his own eponymous half-hour animated series. This show aired on the CBS television network during the 1993 to 1994 season. The series was created by Mark O'Hare and featured voice work from actors including Jim Cummings, Steve Mackall, Samuel E. Wright, and Jason Marsden. The program focused on the off-the-wall and nonsensical adventures of the titular creature. The production concluded its run around 1994. As an animated series, it served as a platform for the character to transition from short television segments into a dedicated show. The project remains documented as a notable example of American animation from the early 1990s.
