Local Heroes is a documentary television series that originally aired beginning in 1996. The award-winning United Kingdom science and history television programme was presented by Adam Hart-Davis. It was made by Screenhouse Productions and directed by Paul Bader. The series was first aired on the ITV regional network Yorkshire Television in 1991. In the show, the presenter wore trademark pink and yellow cycling clothes and rode a matching bicycle around the region to tell the stories of scientists who were born or lived there, and these stories were embellished by experiments. Additionally, an American comedy television series titled Local Heroes was created by Frank Mula and starred Ken Hudson Campbell, Kristin Dattilo, Louis Ferreira, Jason Kristofer, and Jay Mohr. That comedy series aired on Fox from March 17, 1996, to April 28, 1996, and featured directing work by Jeff Melman and Ted Wass.
