Overview

Little Forest: Summer/Autumn is a film that follows Ichiko, a character who returns to her rural hometown, Komori, after experiencing heartbreak in a city environment. Upon her return, Ichiko faces the challenges of summer's weather, which includes rain and humidity. During this time, she engages in various activities such as baking her own bread, growing hothouse tomatoes, and tilling the fields. As the seasons change to autumn, Ichiko participates in the seasonal activities of pickling and preserving, specifically focusing on fish and sweet potatoes. Additionally, Ichiko begins to harvest rice and reflects on her past departure from Komori, which occurred five years prior to her return. The film explores Ichiko's experiences and emotions as she reconnects with her rural roots.
