Overview
Legacies is an American fantasy drama television series created by Julie Plec that aired on The CW from October 25, 2018, to June 16, 2022. As a spinoff of The Originals, the series is part of The Vampire Diaries Universe and includes characters from both The Originals and its predecessor, The Vampire Diaries. The narrative focuses on the next generation of supernatural beings attending The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. This private institution serves as a place where young witches, vampires, and werewolves are nurtured to manage their powers and navigate their impulses. The story follows Hope Mikaelson, a seventeen-year-old tribrid and daughter of a vampire-werewolf hybrid, as she comes of age alongside other students, including Alaric Saltzman’s twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman. As these individuals grow into heroes and villains, they must master their abilities while living within a rare supernatural bloodline. The series was greenlit on May 11, 2018, and premiered as part of the 2018-2019 television season.
