Synopsis
The camera fixates on a guy in the audience with a gigantic gut with DAVE written on it. Also, Martin Short does another musical number, with a final note so extended that he leaves the stage, goes to the bank, buys a sandwich at Hello Deli, picks up his dry cleaning, and returns to the theater just in time for the big climax.

Season four, episode one hundred eighteen of Late Show with David Letterman opens with the camera fixating on a member of the audience. This audience member has a gigantic gut with the name Dave written on it.
Later in the episode, guest Martin Short performs another musical number. During the performance, Short hits a final note that is so extended that he actually leaves the stage. While holding the note, he walks to the bank, buys a sandwich at the Hello Deli, and picks up his dry cleaning.
