Synopsis
Dave tricks young Oscar® winner Anna Paquin into getting in a magician's box, claiming he was going to show her a trick. Once he had her locked in, he took off her shoes and tickled her feet!Also, Dave challenges Millionaire Basketball Winner Tom Gates: if he makes his shot onstage, Dave will give him $10,000; if he doesn't, he has to host the show. He misses. So does a very un-athletic Mary Tyler Moore. But Paquin hits, and Dave gives her the $10,000 cash.

The Late Show with David Letterman season three, episode 126 features guests Mary Tyler Moore, Anna Paquin, and Mark Knopfler. During the broadcast, host David Letterman tricks young Oscar winner Anna Paquin into stepping inside a magician's box under the guise of showing her a trick. Once she is locked inside, Letterman removes her shoes and tickles her feet.
Later in the program, Letterman issues a basketball challenge to Millionaire Basketball Winner Tom Gates. Under the terms of the challenge, if Gates makes his shot onstage, Letterman will award him ten thousand dollars, but if he misses, Gates will be required to host the show. Gates misses his attempt. Mary Tyler Moore also attempts a shot on the stage, but the unathletic actress similarly misses. However, Anna Paquin successfully makes her basketball shot, and Letterman hands her the ten thousand dollars in cash.
