Episode recap

In this episode of Late Show with David Letterman, the host returns to the outside of the Today Show set and displays a sign that reads "Happy 100th Birthday, Willard." This gesture is a nod to a previous stunt where Dave accomplished a feat that was previously achieved by someone else. The episode marks a significant anniversary, specifically the 25th anniversary of a notable event.

In celebration of this milestone, the show features a segment where David Letterman achieves the same feat as the moon landing's 25th anniversary. The accomplishment is a central part of the episode's content.

The musical performance for this episode is provided by Midnight Oil, who perform one of their songs, titled "Sometimes." The band's appearance is a notable aspect of the episode's entertainment offerings.
