Overview

L Storm is an action, crime, and thriller film released in Hong Kong on August 23, 2018, with a runtime of 1 hour and 37 minutes. The story follows ICAC Investigator William Luk and JFIU Chief Inspector Lau Po-keung as they each encounter dead ends while investigating separate bribery and money laundering cases. Complications arise for William Luk when model Eva Ng files a report against him with Inspector Kenny Ching of ICAC’s Internal Investigation Group L, accusing Luk of accepting a twelve million dollar bribe, which results in his suspension. Meanwhile, Inspector Lau Po-keung discovers that Luk has been set up and that the person responsible for framing him is connected to Lau's own case. Lau begins to suspect that bank manager Thomson Yau is helping a gangster named Wong Hoi-wo with money laundering activities. When Director Hong Liang of China's Anti-Corruption and Bribery Bureau supplies Lau with critical intelligence, it becomes evident that the money laundering scheme is tied to a corrupted vice-ministerial level cadre, prompting William Luk to risk everything to clear his name.
