Kirby: Right Back at Ya! is an anime series based on the Kirby games made by Nintendo. The series premiered in Japan in October 2001, as "Hoshi no Kaābī". It was produced jointly by Nintendo and is an adaptation of the popular video game franchise. A diminutive pink creature named Kirby crash lands into Dream Land, where he becomes acquainted with the citizens of Cappy Town. The series follows Kirby as he defends the town from monsters ordered by King Dedede, the self-proclaimed ruler of Cappy Town, from the evil Nightmare Enterprises. The anime series ran from 2001 to 2003 and consists of 100 episodes. It is classified under several genres, including animation, comedy, sci-fi and fantasy, and action and adventure.
