Twenty-three years prior to the events of the season, two baby girls named Ella and Yoke were intentionally switched at birth. Their mothers, primary school rivals Loh May Wan and Jessica Shelley, attempt to uncover the truth behind the swap while dealing with their birth-daughters, who are polar opposites to them in every way. Meanwhile, Deanna learns she has a terminal illness and decides to entrust her husband, Kenneth, to her best friend Ananya. This leaves Ananya caught between choosing Kenneth and James, a man she has long admired.
