Iskole 2021

Overview

Iskole is a Sri Lankan television prime-time soap opera that has been broadcast on TV Derana since 2021. The series, which is written by Saman Edirimunee and directed by Diluka Prasad Gunathilake, began airing on March 8, 2021, and continues to be broadcast on weekdays from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The story follows a dedicated teacher who leaves her life in the city to accept a transfer to a remote rural village in order to escape a forced marriage to a wealthy businessman. Upon arriving, she discovers a gifted young dancer and commits herself to nurturing the child's talent. When a corrupt politician attempts to close the underfunded village school, the teacher collaborates with fellow educators and a local entrepreneur to rally the community to save the institution. Throughout the series, she also works to protect mistreated village children while resisting pressure from her family to return home. The production remains an ongoing project, with episodes continuing to air as of 2026.
