Overview

Inuyasha is a Japanese animated television series created by Rumiko Takahashi that aired from 2000 to 2004. The show follows Kagome Higurashi, a teenage girl who discovers she is the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo and possesses the powerful Shikon jewel. After falling through an ancient well near her home, Kagome is transported five hundred years into the past to feudal Japan. There she meets Inuyasha, a half-demon pinned to a tree by an enchanted arrow. Together they embark on a journey to collect the scattered shards of the Shikon jewel and prevent them from falling into evil hands. The series originally aired for 167 episodes on Yomiuri TV and Nippon Television and their affiliates. A sequel series titled Inuyasha: The Final Act aired from 2009 to 2010, adapting the remaining portions of the original manga. The show features the voices of Kappei Yamaguchi and other actors in the original Japanese version.
