Overview

Incomplete Life is a 2014 television series centered around Jang Geu-rae, a young man who has dedicated his life to the Korean board game baduk since childhood. When he fails to achieve his goal of becoming a professional baduk player, he is forced to leave his sheltered existence and navigate the real world. His only qualification for entering society is possession of a high school equivalency exam certificate. The series follows his journey as he attempts to adapt to normal life after his singular focus on baduk has not yielded the professional success he sought. The show explores themes of coming-of-age, societal adaptation, and finding one's place in the world after experiencing disappointment in one's primary pursuit.
