The seventh episode of the American political thriller limited series High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam, titled The Reckoning, follows the events that unfold after two years pass with no weapons of mass destruction discovered in Iraq. During this time, the country remains in a state of chaos while the White House finds itself under political siege. Amidst these developments, Saddam stands on trial. Concurrently, CIA analyst John Nixon attempts to persuade the Central Intelligence Agency that saving Saddam is the sole path remaining toward achieving peace. The limited series, created by Daniel Stiepleman and Jonathan Wakeham and developed by Leslie Greif for TNT, is inspired by the memoir Debriefing the President written by John Nixon, who in 2003 became the first American to positively identify and interrogate Saddam Hussein.
