Overview

Hidden Assets is a television series that follows the professional activities of the Irish Criminal Assets Bureau. The narrative begins when a detective named Emer Berry conducts a routine raid on a small-time drug dealer. During the investigation, it is discovered that the dealer has been receiving large amounts of funding from an untraceable source. Instead of traditional currency, these payments were made using rough diamonds. As the investigation progresses, these diamonds are connected to a string of bombings that occurred in Belgium. This development necessitates a cross-border collaboration, forcing Emer Berry to work alongside the Belgian Police Commissioner, Christian De Jong. The series focuses on the intersection of criminal financial investigations and international terrorism as the two investigators attempt to trace the origin of the illicit funding. By examining the link between the drug trade and the explosive attacks, the characters work to uncover the truth behind the mysterious source of the diamonds. The show premiered in 2021.
