The program was created by Milt Josefsberg, Ray Singer, and Bob O'Brien. In the series, Lucille Ball portrays the character Lucy Carter, a widow with two teenage children. The plot follows her character as she takes a job working as a secretary for her stuffy brother-in-law. The show featured a cast that included Ball's long-time comedy partner Gale Gordon. Additionally, the series co-starred Ball's real-life children, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr. The production is recognized as a continuation of Ball's career in television comedy following her earlier classics.
